Smithsonian American Art Museum seeking a creative individual who
loves working with the public to develop and coordinate public and
professional programs and interpretive materials for the Lunder
Conservation Center.

Shared between the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National
Portrait Gallery, the Center is comprised of five labs and studios
where the public can see conservators examining, assessing, and
treating fine art frames, works on paper, objects, and paintings
from both museums' collections. The Program Coordinator is
responsible for planning and coordinating a wide array of
educational programs and materials that aim to reach a broad
audience. Monitors public reaction to the Center and its
interpretive elements and develops and oversees production of
content that makes clear to the general public what fine art
conservation entails and how it serves to preserve our national art
treasures. Programs will also be developed in association with the
conservators for specialized audiences that include conservators,
curators, and other museum professionals. The Program Coordinator
will administer the website, interactive kiosks, and the use of
social media to promote the understanding of conservation as well as
