You will play a major role in supporting conservation treatments and
the preparation of paintings for loan and display, including
refitting canvases and panels, preparation and fitting of
microclimate display systems, and the provision of auxiliary
supports such as stretchers, strainers, or other temporary
structures necessary for the any given conservation treatment.  You
will be responsible for maintaining departmental woodworking
machinery and tools, as well as ordering supplies for the
conservation structural workshop.  You also will prepare some
conservation materials such as varnishes and adhesives.

You will have a recognised qualification (e.g. GCSE, HND, etc.) in
the arts or woodworking, practical experience in the handling of
paintings and art objects, and basic skills in woodworking and
computing.  You will need good organisational and interpersonal
skills in order to manage a busy and sometimes complicated work
flow.

This role is fixed term for 22 months subject to review of post.
