The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums,
seeks an Associate Laboratory Coordinator in the Scientific Research
Department.  Provides technical support to Scientific Research
staff.  Duties will include stocking laboratories, managing chemical
inventories, preparing experiments and measurements, maintaining
scientific instrumentation, archiving specimens, and managing
scientific documentation.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

    Orders supplies and consumables for laboratories

    Maintains inventory of chemicals

    Schedules maintenance visits for equipment repairs

    Assists Scientist in Charge and Manager for Administration in
    keeping archive of conservation documentation

    Other related duties

Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience and Skills:

    Experience as laboratory technician

    Analytical Chemistry, Quality Control, or Environmental Analysis

    Experience with LIMS or chemical databases

Knowledge and Education:

    Associate or Bachelor degree in the physical sciences or in
    chemical engineering
