Proceedings of Conference on Lasers in the Conservation of Artworks (LACONA)

Publication of the proceedings of the LACONA X conference

The Chairs and Editors are pleased to announce the publication of
the proceedings of the LACONA X conference which was held in Sharjah
in June 2014 and organized in partnership between Faculty of
Archaeology of Fayoum University, Athar-ICCROM, Bibliotheca
Alexandrina, the American University of Sharjah and the Arab
Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.

The publication is freely available online in open access format in
a dedicated Special Issue of Studies in Conservation, the premier
journal of the International Institute of Conservation of Artistic
and Historic Works (IIC):

This Issue represents but a selection of the richness of research
work presented in Sharjah.  The Editors are indebted to all who
contributed their manuscripts; these 'underwent the same scrupulous
editorial process as any other volume of Studies, as well as to the
LACONA Permanent Scientific Committee for their trust and
confidence.  The work presented here is key to the continued
development as well as adoption of laser-based methods in
conservation, and it is our hope that the Special Issue will be
useful for conservators and scientists.
