The Association of Print Scholars is pleased to announce its inaugural lecture: "Why Study Prints Now?" Martin Segal Theater Graduate Center The City University of New York 365 Fifth Avenue New York NY September 25, 2015 4 pm Speaker: Peter Parshall In his lecture, Peter Parshall, former Curator of Old Master prints at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., will address the history and historiography of print studies. He is the former Jane Neuberger Goodsell Professor of Art History and the Humanities at Reed College and, with David Landau, co-author of The Renaissance Print: 1470-1550 (Yale University Press, 1994). Parshall has published extensively and organized several groundbreaking exhibitions covering a wide range of topics about printmaking. He is currently conducting research on the curator William Ivins for an upcoming 2016 exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art entitled The Power of Prints: The Legacy of William Ivins and Hyatt Mayor.
