Symposium on textiles

Harvard Art Museums is hosting a one day symposium on the subject of
textiles with invited lectures from Mary Schoeser, Honorary
President of The Textile Society; Dinah Eastop, Honorary Senior
Lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London;
Shinique Smith, contemporary artist; Valerie Steele, Director and
Chief Curator at The Museum at FIT; and Matilda McQuaid, Deputy
Director of Curatorial and Head of Textiles at Cooper Hewitt,
Smithsonian Design Museum.  This event is free and no registration
is required. The symposium forms part of the Andrew W. Mellon
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Conservation Science and is supported by
the M. Victor Leventritt Fund.
