Research and Teaching Grade 6: UKP27,057- UKP30,434 REF: 011024 We are looking for a research conservator to join an interdisciplinary team to take part in a ground-breaking investigation of a key aspect of Pacific culture. The three-year research project, Situating Pacific Barkcloth Production in Time and Place, is being funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and is a collaboration between the University of Glasgow, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the National Museum of Natural History, The Smithsonian Institution. We are looking for staff who bring technical skills to the project and who also enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment. The post-holder will undertake conservation treatment and improve the collection storage of Pacific barkcloth artefacts belonging to The Hunterian at the University of Glasgow and the Economic Botany Collection at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The successful candidate will contribute to the dissemination of project outcomes through research publications, conferences and the project website.
