Dry ice blasting on Cor-Ten steel

I am an MA student in Metalwork Conservation at West Dean College
and as part of my research project, I would like to hear from
conservators who have cleaned painted graffiti from weathering steel
sculptures or buildings.

If you have used dry ice blasting for removing painted graffiti, I
would love to hear about your experiences. I've heard contrasting
reports on how well it works on weathering steel. Some conservators
I've interviewed think it is an effective technique, but others have
said that poultices are preferable because dry ice takes off the top
layer of the corrosion patina.

Is it a viable option, cost-wise, compared to other methods of
painted graffiti removal?
