Collections Management Officer
Hampton Court Palace

Temporary contract - 7 months

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is the independent charity that looks
after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting
House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle.

Across these six sites, we store and care for thousands of historic
objects, many of them in their original royal setting. Keeping
track of the collections and their information is an essential role
for our conservation department. This year we are carrying out a
palaces-wide project to catalogue our entire collection on our
Collections Management System and developing an off-site collection
store.

Under our Registrar you will support Collections Management
operations pertaining to loans, exhibitions, object moves, inventory
checks and collection database updates. In addition you'll support
the work of our registrar, conservators and scientists by organising
and maintaining our records and reference materials. Handling a
huge range of written and photographic records of our
highly-specialised conservation projects, you'll ensure that our
collections management system, records and archive assets--both
digital and non-digital--are up-to-date and accessible.

With your expertise gained in a museum or related area, you will be
familiar with current best practice in collections management.
Joining us is a fantastic way to expand your experience, helping us
care for our collections for all our visitors now and in the future.

Based at Hampton Court Palace there will be a requirement to travel
to our other palaces on occasion.

Historic Royal Palaces is a registered charity (No 1068852) and an
equal opportunities employer. Applications are welcome from all
