WLC seeks a full time, paintings conservator with five years or more
experience, to join a 40 year old mixed specialty group practice.
We provide preservation services for easel paintings, murals,
frames, paper, photographs, painted objects and textiles.  Our
clients come from the private and non-profit sectors and include
regional colleges and universities as well as small to mid-sized
museums and historic sites.  We have a national reputation for our
mural treatments, research in painting lining supports and disaster
recovery contributions.  Our outreach and community participation
initiatives include educational workshops, seminars and collection
management services.

Requirements are, an advanced degree in art conservation with a
specialization in paintings, or comparable training.  Work
experience, in both museum and private practice is desired.  The
position requires independent problem solving, treatment proposals
with estimated labor and treatments on a wide variety of easel
paintings, murals and painted objects.  Strong skills in personal
management, analysis, research, communication (verbal and written),
digital photography and photo editing, computer use, as well as
demonstrated hand and technical conservation skills are necessary.
We work as a team so staff can supply extra hands and collaboration
as needed.  The successful candidate must be ambitious, keep abreast
of continuing education and be, or desire to become a recognized AIC
PA, or Fellow status.

The ability to travel to conduct on site exams, surveys, workshops
for clients occasionally and manning vendor booths is needed.
