Saving Kullas in Kosovo
Kulla Isuf Mazrekaj
Drenoc, Kosovo
May 15-28, 2016

Adventures in Preservation (AiP), in partnership with Cultural
Heritage without Borders (CHwB), will take volunteer vacationers to
Drenoc, Kosovo, where they will stay and work in Kulla Isuf
Mazrekaj, one of seven surviving 18th-century kulla (tower houses)
in the village. CHwB craftsmen and artisans will guide volunteers
in restoring wooden floors and ceilings, plastering walls, and
conserving doors and windows. This hands-on project teaches
valuable maintenance skills and ensures the future of a structure
significant to the community and to Kosovo's heritage tourism
economy.

Cost for two weeks:

    Double: US$1,550
    Single: US$150
