Saving Kullas in Kosovo Kulla Isuf Mazrekaj Drenoc, Kosovo May 15-28, 2016 Adventures in Preservation (AiP), in partnership with Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB), will take volunteer vacationers to Drenoc, Kosovo, where they will stay and work in Kulla Isuf Mazrekaj, one of seven surviving 18th-century kulla (tower houses) in the village. CHwB craftsmen and artisans will guide volunteers in restoring wooden floors and ceilings, plastering walls, and conserving doors and windows. This hands-on project teaches valuable maintenance skills and ensures the future of a structure significant to the community and to Kosovo's heritage tourism economy.
