Subject: Survey on display cases--addendum
Results dissemination for "Survey on display cases" The first results of the University of Warwick's Display Case User Survey are available via the new specialist discussion group "Exhibit Enclosure Environments" on LinkedIn: <URL:https://www.linkedin.com/grp/home?gid=8331052> These results are from the 15-minute presentation made in person at the 1st Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology (SEAHA) Conference, University College London, 14-15 July 2015. Sincere thanks to all who disseminated the survey and its 94 respondents who contributed to this unique snapshot of recent behaviours and needs of enclosure users around the world. May the survey findings be informative and useful for those endeavouring with specifying, building, testing and maintaining exhibit enclosure environments for conserving tangible heritage collections. They might be considered a starting point from which users and manufacturers of display cases and glazed frames can improve the conservation efficiency of enclosed environments for exhibits. Comments and queries on the survey findings are especially welcome through the specialist discussion group, "Exhibit Enclosure Environments" where there is a 100+ membership of users and manufacturers of display cases and frames. An extended summary and discussion of the survey results will follow in an article to be published in an open-source heritage journal. James Crawford BAppSc (Cons. Cult. Mats.) MCons (App. Cons.)
