Workshop on colour fills

The ICON Ceramics and Glass Group Committee is pleased to announce
that booking is now open for the Colour Fills Workshop on 14
November 2015 to be held at the Wiltshire and Swindon Heritage
Centre.

The workshop is aimed at ceramic restorer/conservators who are new
to this conservation technique or who would like to update their
skills.  Participants will learn how to prepare and work with the
epoxy resin: this will include colour matching and achieving
different surface finishes to restore a variety of ceramic bodies.
Later on the day, participants will be introduced to the art of
successfully polishing previously prepared fills to achieve the
mirror-like finish ceramic objects are often known for.  With this
workshop participants will obtain a strong ground and good practice
from which they can develop their colour-filling technique further.
