Samuel H. Kress Conservation Fellowship - Asian Art Conservation Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) The Northeast Document Conservation Center invites applicants for the Samuel H. Kress Conservation Fellowship in Asian Paintings Conservation. The selected candidate's time will be divided between the NEDCC facility in Andover, MA and the Nishio Conservation Studio in Washington, D.C. The Fellowship is scheduled to begin September 2015 or a mutually agreed upon date soon after. It will be a full-time, one (1) year appointment with benefits and a travel allowance for research purposes. The option for a second year may be available depending on funding. The Kress Fellow will apply their post graduate skills in paper conservation to develop the necessary proficiency to handle and treat Japanese, Chinese and Korean paintings on paper. A very high interest in and at least some prior training in Asian paintings including hand scrolls and multiple panel folding screens is requisite. Qualifications to apply include a Master's degree from a recognized conservation training program or a minimum of five (5) years equivalent professional training and experience treating works on paper. The candidate is required to hold US citizenship. Compensation includes salary, benefits and travel allowance. If selected for an interview, the applicant is expected to present a portfolio of completed projects during the interview process.
