Victoria and Albert Museum

Two Posts:

    Full Time - Permanent
    Full Time - Fixed term for 22 months

UKP 25,763 - UKP 30,965

The V&A is seeking two Textile Conservation Display Specialists to
undertake a broad range of practical mounting and packing work on
textiles and fashion from the V&A's collections.

The successful candidate will have completed a recognised
conservation training programme, or equivalent training programme in
historical costume design, and gained excellent practical skills.
They will be able to design and prepare complex mounts and supports
for three-dimensional textile objects and historic dress.  They will
have a proven competency in pattern cutting and have advanced dress
making skills with a knowledge and technical understanding of
historic dress and fashionable silhouettes.

You will be highly motivated and able to organise your own workload
with the minimum of supervision and be able to work independently or
as part of a team.  You will have excellent problem-solving skills,
as well as good planning and organisational skills.  You will also
be an effective communicator.  Familiarity with Microsoft programmes
(such as Word, PowerPoint), simple databases and digital image
processing would be desirable.
