Lecturer in the Conservation of Easel Paintings Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences Northumbria University Part time (29.6 hours per week, 0.8fte), Fixed term: 1 September 2015 - 31 July 2016 Ref: ADS14/36 Salary: UKP33,242 - UKP37,394 (Pro-rata) The Department of Arts has well established and innovative collaborations within the cultural sector including Tate Britain, National Trust, Tyne and Wear Museums and most recently the BALTIC centre. We have international ambition as well as determination to position the region as a global hub of contemporary art learning and practice. We are seeking to recruit a maternity cover for a role specialising in the Conservation of Fine Art: Easel Painting. You will be responsible for the development, organisation and delivery of curriculum content within postgraduate programmes of the department. You will have specialist subject expertise suitable for the teaching of Fine Art Conservation: Easel Painting at HE level and a high level of technical ability and creative expertise across a range of Art Conservation practices in Easel Painting (professional practice, Academic Research and Teaching) methods and processes. You will have significant expertise and technical ability in Art Conservation practice, together with a good honours degree and master's degree / or equivalent experience in relevant subject. You should have an understanding of the key debates affecting contemporary and future professional practice of the conservation of fine art. Experience of teaching, ideally at HE level is essential.
