Conservation and Collection Care internship Judd Foundation Marfa, Texas The Judd Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and preserve the artist Donald Judd's (1928-1994) permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives in New York, and Marfa, Texas. The Marfa office is looking for a conservation and collection care intern for approximately 4 months depending on availability beginning in August 2015. The intern will work under supervision of the conservator to examine artworks, furniture and works on paper, create photographic documentation, write condition reports, treatment proposals, and enter data into the Filemaker Pro database. The intern will assist with packing, art handling and housing of works on paper. The intern will also participate in the daily activities of the Foundation including maintenance and care of the collection, implementation of preventive measures and assist the permanent staff when required. The candidate should have background in conservation, collection care or have work experience from collections or museums. Organizational and research skills, thoroughness, ability to work independently and problem-solving capabilities are some qualities required for this internship. Judd Foundation provides housing and a stipend of $100 per week.
