"Conservation of Photographs"
9-12 November 2015
Course leader:  Susie Clark

    This course will describe the processes and photographic
    materials which have been commonly used and how to recognise
    them.  It will also examine the problems caused by different
    processes and the appropriate methods and materials for their
    conservation and care. The course will include the opportunity
    to look at practical examples of processes and deterioration.
    The roles of the environment, biological deterioration, health
    and safety, storage and handling will also be covered.

"Conservation of Historic Interiors"
23-26 November 2015
Course leaders:  Heather Tetley and Allyson McDermott

    This course will bring together senior conservators who have
    worked on many of the iconic historic interiors conservation
    projects of the last three decades.  As well as presenting more
    recent work, they will also look back on the development of
    cutting edge approaches to conservation and the increasing
    demand for well researched and sustainable reconstruction using
    both traditional and digital techniques.

    Specialist topics will cover investigation and survey,
    conservation and reinstallation and include carpets, wallpapers,
    flooring, panelling and fitted furniture, stained and painted
    glass, scientific and contextual research.  They will also
    discuss the joys and dilemmas revealed as the
    conservator/researcher uncovers the past.  It is hoped that the
    participants will contribute from their own experiences and help
    plan for the future as the conservation needs of historic
    interiors and collections adapt to the challenges of more
    diverse use and greater accessibility.
