ICOM-CC Graphic Documents Working Group Interim Meeting

The next Interim Meeting of the Graphic Documents Working Group will
take place 6-8 June 2016 at Bibliotheque national de France in
Paris.  Two days of lectures will be dedicated to the topic of
Experience and Evidence.  Tours will be offered to conservation
studios and institutions in Paris on the first day of the meeting.

The next Working Group meeting shall provide a forum for exchange of
experience gathered in assessments, treatments, reflection on former
interventions and research.  Further we want to discuss the evidence
gained through evaluation of conservation actions or through
conservation research.  Experience is a cherished value in the
conservation community.  In which ways are conservation decisions in
practical life influenced by scientific evidence and how do
conservators transfer their experience into evidence?  How do we use
this evidence in discussions between conservators, curators and
decisions makers?

On the basis of these reflections and questions, we invite papers
for the following areas:

    New developments in conservation practice influenced by
    conservation research

    New developments in conservation research influenced by
    conservation practice

    Mounting: case studies and experience from mounting for storage
    and display, evidence of bad and of best practice, conflict of
    interests.

    Experience gained in treatments, digitisation projects and
    collection care

Please send a preliminary title, abstract (maximum 500 words, no
illustrations), short biography (100 words) and a list of a maximum
of three reference publications (optional) to: Christa Hofmann

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 October, 2015.

Presenting authors will be notified of the decision of the review
committee by 1 December 2015.  If an oral presentation of 20 minutes
cannot be offered, a poster presentation may be submitted instead.
