is a heritage contractor based on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada
with expertise in building archaeology and building conservation.
M&L works both locally and internationally, to conserve historic
buildings and large wooden objects.  Our business is expanding to
include the conservation of large metal and composite objects, and
we are seeking two new staff members to assist with this.  The
positions are available immediately, and renewable at the end of
6-months.

The ideal candidates will be comfortable with a holistic and
collaborative approach to conservation, and they will be accustomed
to working as part of a team.  They will have excellent
communication skills and they will be well-organized.

Candidates will have 3-5 years practical experience, and be familiar
with a wide range of treatments appropriate to large objects.  The
work is physically demanding and will require a strong foundation of
craft skills plus experience with a wide range of tools and
techniques.  Candidates must also be able to travel.

The Conservator will manage projects from beginning to end,
including condition assessments, photographic and written
documentation, writing treatment proposals, and performing practical
conservation treatments. This person will supervise the Technician
and others.  The Conservator will have the opportunity to contribute
to the design and implementation of the new studio/workshop space,
in which they will work.
