The Degree Programme in Conservation is pleased to announce the
eighth Nordic Conservation PhD Student Colloquium for the current
and aspiring PhD students in the conservation training institutions,
hosted by the Degree Programme in Conservation, the Helsinki
University of Applied Sciences.

The aim of the Colloquium is to give postgraduate research students
primarily in the Nordic programmes the opportunity to present and
discuss their current research with their peers and programme
faculty, and to benefit from such an exchange. It will allow
sharing of ideas and information amongst PhD candidates and
programme faculty in an informal environment. The Colloquium seeks
to create a Nordic forum for debate and exchange of ideas in
research with relevance to the conservation / restoration of
cultural heritage. Furthermore, it provides a venue for PhD
students to meet, interact and form future collaborations with other
PhD students.

The Colloquium is open to the current and aspiring PhD candidates,
their supervisors and other academic staff involved in research
training in the conservation programmes at the University of Oslo,
the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the
University of Gothenburg, the School of Conservation, Copenhagen and
conservation programmes abroad.

All current and aspiring PhD candidates who wish to participate will
be asked to give an oral presentation in English (20 minutes), of
the progress in their current PhD research. Those who have attended
in previous years are encouraged to present an update of their
research. All presenters are asked to submit an extended abstract
(300-500 words) for circulation to the participants in advance of
the meeting in order to provide discussion of presentations.

Deadline for registration: 1 October 2015

Deadline for Abstracts of Presentations: 23 October 2015
