Conservator - Decorative Arts Montreal Museum of Fine Arts General Responsibilities: Carry out examinations and research and co-ordinate scientific analyses prior to the conservation of works in the Museum's collection of decorative arts and traditional sculpture Carry out the conservation and restoration of works of art using recognized materials and techniques Write detailed technical reports following treatments and condition reports for the purpose of acquisitions, temporary exhibitions and loans Requirements A graduate degree in the conservation of works of art, with a specialization in decorative arts or traditional sculpture Very good general knowledge of the conservation techniques and of the material science relating to the objects of a decorative arts collection, such as organic fibers and materials, polymers, glass, ceramics and metals At least 4 years of experience in a similar position Very strong organizational skills, resourcefulness and creativity Fluency in French and English, spoken and written Good knowledge of Office Suite 2013 and of databases Salary range: $65,020 to $85,313 annually.
