.5 years fixed term contract, Full Time

Trinity College Library has been awarded an Art Conservation grant
from the Bank of America Merrill Lynch to fund the treatment,
technical examination, digitisation and art historical study of four
of Trinity College Dublin Library's most important early medieval
Irish manuscripts; the Codex Usserianius Primus, the Garland of
Howth, the Book of Dimma, and the Book of Mulling.  The successful
candidate will work within the project team specifically on the
conservation of these early Irish manuscripts in the Library's
collection.  You will also be involved in selecting and implementing
re-housing solutions and preparing items for digitization.

Qualifications:

    Applicant must be a graduate of a recognized book and manuscript
    conservation programme

    Applicant must be able to work in Ireland

Knowledge and Experience (Essential and Desirable):

    At least three years' experience in the field of book and
    manuscript conservation

    Experience in the treatment of parchment manuscripts, bound, or
    unbound

    Examination, documentation, and reporting skills

    Experience with preservation housing solutions and techniques

    Previous project management experience and skills
