The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery is seeking a
Conservation Scientist to perform scientific research, as well as
identification and analyses of materials used in works of art to
support the efforts of the staff in the galleries.  The Freer
Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery are the Smithsonian
Institution's museums of Asian Art.  The two Galleries are
co-administered and share the same staff, but maintain separate
identities.  The collections of the Freer and Sackler Galleries
include artworks from the Near East and Southeast Asia, as well as
the Far East and the United States.

The position will be located in the Department of Conservation and
Scientific Research of the Freer/Sackler in Washington DC.
