A position of a Postdoctoral Associate in Conservation Science is
open in the IPCH Digitization Lab at Yale University in New Haven,
CT.  This is a full-time, two-year position, reporting to the Head
of the Digitization Laboratory.  The IPCH Digitization Lab provides
expertise and facilities for the creation, management, preservation
and accessibility of digital cultural heritage on Yale's campus and
beyond.  Digital technologies provide opportunities to analyze,
document, and study cultural heritage.  Technologies used include 3
D laser scanning, reflection transformation imaging, multispectral
imaging in the uv, visible and IR range, digital Photography, and
digital radiography.  The Postdoctoral Associate will examine and
research imaging technologies and work in close collaboration with
Yale's Department of Computer Science and Yale's collections in a
research project across the institute's various laboratories in the
arena of managing conservation science data and integrating it with
imaging data.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a PhD in conservation science or
related field.  Experience in material analysis and imaging
techniques, proficiency with managing and processing of analytical
and imaging data files as well as a strong background in one of the
physical sciences is desirable.  The PhD degree must have been
obtained within the last five years.  Previous experience in a
museum or conservation of monuments environment is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal skills, fluency in English language as
well as an interest in collaborative and mult-disciplinary research
are essential.

Remuneration: The level of remuneration is dependent on experience
according to the policy of the Yale Office for Postdoctoral Affairs

starting from $40,600 plus health benefits with an annual cost of
living increase.
