Conservator Portland Art Museum, Oregon The Portland Art Museum is recruiting for a Conservator. Reporting to the Director of Collection and Exhibitions the Conservator oversees the preservation and restoration across the Museum. An expert at understanding why and how artifacts deteriorate, as well as knowing how to give them a new lease of life, this role is responsible for the examination, technical analysis, conservation research, documentation, and treatment of works of art in the permanent collection and on loan to the Museum. History: The mission of the Portland Art Museum is to engage the public with art and film of enduring quality, to facilitate dialogue with diverse audiences, and to collect, preserve, and educate for the enrichment of present and future generations. Founded in 1892, the Portland Art Museum is comprised of both the Museum and the Northwest Film Center, founded in 1971.
