The Morgan Library and Museum announces a one-year post-graduate
Fellowship in the Thaw Conservation center.  The purpose of the
Fellowship is to introduce junior book conservators to projects of
increasing complexity tailored to build upon previous experience.
The Fellowship will provide the opportunity to further develop
decision-making and treatment skills under the supervision of senior
book conservators, as applied to repairs on bindings and texts, and
the conservation re-binding of historic text blocks.  The Fellow
will participate in all the Center's activities, while commencing a
career in book conservation.

The Thaw Conservation Center is a major resource in New York City
for the conservation and technical study of bound materials.

Qualifications:

   Applicants should be graduates of a recognized graduate-level
   program in conservation or be able to demonstrate the acquisition
   of equivalent skills and knowledge through work/life experience.

   A portfolio of treatments and research projects is required of
   all applicants selected for interviews.

   Candidates should possess strong public speaking and written
   communication skills.

   Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to the
   profession of conservation, scholarly advancement, and public
   outreach.

Compensation: Annual compensation is $36,000.00.  Details on
benefits and the hiring process will be provided to those selected
for interviews.

The Fellowship term will begin in September 2015.

This fellowship has been generously underwritten by the Pine Tree
Foundation.
