Linking Archaeology with Preservation at Fairfield Plantation
Gloucester, Virginia, USA
June 7-13, 2015; August 16-22, 2015

Cost: US$890 - US$1095 per week

Adventures in Preservation (AiP) is offering one-week workshops in
Gloucester, Virginia. Participants will be led by archaeologists
David Brown and Thane Harpole as well as historic mason Jason
Whitehead in excavation and preservation techniques. These
workshops offer a unique opportunity to make new discoveries in the
history-rich mid-Atlantic. The project site, the Fairfield
plantation, continues to reveal evidence of the home of the family
who owned it, as well as the lives of enslaved Africans and
African-Americans whose labor fueled plantation operations.

relationship between preservation and archaeology on Virginia's
