Participants will be led by archaeologists David Brown and Thane Harpole as well as historic mason Jason Whitehead in excavation and preservation techniques. These workshops offer a unique opportunity to make new discoveries in the history-rich mid-Atlantic. The project site, the Fairfield plantation, continues to reveal evidence of the home of the family who owned it, as well as the lives of enslaved Africans and African-Americans whose labor fueled plantation operations.
