Lecturer-researcher in wall painting conservation-restoration University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) Lugano, Switzerland The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), is offering a position for a Lecturer-researcher in wall painting conservation-restoration at the Conservation-Restoration degree program of the Department of Environment, Construction and Design (DACD), in Canobbio (Lugano). The position is on an annual renewable fix-term basis and requires a part-time commitment of approximately 50-80%. Duties and Responsibilities Assist the director of the master's program in conservation-restoration with strategic planning, learning activities and program coordination Provide MA students with theoretical lessons and practical activities in the conservation-restoration of wall painting and decorated architectural surfaces Participate in research projects, and develop new research areas Participate in activities of continuing education and services for the degree program in conservation-restoration Maintain and develop national and international contacts as well as scientific exchanges with other scientific and educational institutions Maintain and develop contacts with national and international institutions concerned with the protection of the cultural heritage. Profile / training and experience required Master's degree in conservation-restoration of wall paintings and decorated architectural surfaces (or equivalent qualifications) Relevant professional experience in the field of conservation-restoration of wall paintings and architectural surfaces Experience at supervising students during practical and theoretical work Experience in research and teaching activities at university level Experience at establishing priorities and developing a working plan for managing, organizing and conducting activities on a worksite Experience at working within a multidisciplinary team Ability to take initiative and responsibility, proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and organizational skills Be fully available to work on site in Switzerland and abroad Working experiences and professional contacts at an international level Good knowledge of at least one national language and English; knowledge of a third (national) language is considered a plus.
