Subject: Position at National Maritime Museum
Senior Manager: Painting, Frame and Paper Conservation National Maritime Museum Closing date: 5 March 2015 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced conservation manager to join Royal Museums Greenwich. We have recently embarked on an ambitious 4 year project that will significantly increase our gallery space, the development of a purpose built conservation facility at our Kidbrooke site, and a refresh of the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Additionally, in 2016, the Museum will be celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the Queen's House and in preparation for this key milestone we have embarked on a major refurbishment and re-display of the House that will capitalise on the great strengths of the Museum's world-class art collection. To help us achieve all of this we are now looking to recruit the following vacancy. The main responsibilities of the postholder are: To manage all aspects of the conservation and preservation of the National Maritime Museum's paintings and paper-based collections and to develop strategies for their care, treatment and research. To manage and provide effective leadership for the Paper, Frame and Painting Conservation. To undertake practical conservation treatment in postholder's specialist area.
