Senior Conservation Technician - Paper Conservation Center Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) The Los Angeles County Museum of Art invites applications for a senior conservation technician position in the Museum's Conservation Center. Reporting to the senior paper conservator, the technician is responsible for the hinging/matting, rehousing, and minor treatment of works of art on paper as well as the preparation of condition reports for artwork on loan or exhibition. Other duties include the fabrication of customized enclosures, Mylar encapsulations, and mats for works of art on paper and photographs, and the preparation of exhibition mounts and cradles. The senior conservation technician will assist with routine lab maintenance; organize files, order supplies, and track art movement in and out of the lab. The qualified candidate will have an associate's degree and two years of related experience. Experience with mat cutting, framing and the ability to handle two-dimensional works of art are required. In addition, the qualified candidate will have experience with database management and digital photography.
