"Revolution! Technology in 19th Century Historic Interiors" Corpus Christi College, Cambridge Friday 27 March 2015 The Seventh Annual Cambridge Conference of the Historic Interiors Section of ICON will continue the section's chronological survey with an examination of the technological advances which influenced the development of the historic interiors in the 19th century. Topics will range from the introduction of heating and lighting to the changes in the manufacture of decorative elements such as paints and wallpapers. Papers will be presented by a range of multi-disciplinary speakers who will discuss developments in technology and the design opportunities they provided. The one-day conference will be held at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, on Friday 27 March 2015. The day also includes lunch at Corpus Christi College and a guided tour of 19th century technical innovations in the university colleges. This year delegates are invited to explore Cambridge after dark, and join a Magick and Witchcraft walking tour taking us to a number of historic buildings (and pubs) in Cambridge. The evening concludes with an optional pub dinner. Conference cost (including lunch, the college tour, and Magick tour) is UKP70 (members), UKP90 (non-members) and UKP35 (students).
