"Revolution! Technology in 19th Century Historic Interiors"
Corpus Christi College, Cambridge
Friday 27 March 2015

The Seventh Annual Cambridge Conference of the Historic Interiors
Section of ICON will continue the section's chronological survey
with an examination of the technological advances which influenced
the development of the historic interiors in the 19th century.
Topics will range from the introduction of heating and lighting to
the changes in the manufacture of decorative elements such as paints
and wallpapers. Papers will be presented by a range of
multi-disciplinary speakers who will discuss developments in
technology and the design opportunities they provided.

The one-day conference will be held at Corpus Christi College,
Cambridge, on Friday 27 March 2015. The day also includes lunch at
Corpus Christi College and a guided tour of 19th century technical
innovations in the university colleges. This year delegates are
invited to explore Cambridge after dark, and join a Magick and
Witchcraft walking tour taking us to a number of historic buildings
(and pubs) in Cambridge. The evening concludes with an optional pub
dinner.

Conference cost (including lunch, the college tour, and Magick tour)
is UKP70 (members), UKP90 (non-members) and UKP35 (students). Pub
dinner not included.
