Project Collections Conservator English Heritage York

English Heritage cares for over 400 historic monuments, buildings
and sites.  Through these, we bring the story of England to life for
over 10 million visitors each year.  No matter what they do and
where they do it, our people play their part in protecting and
presenting some of the greatest places in England for the benefit
and enjoyment of our visitors.

The conservation of our properties' remarkable interiors and
artefacts is vital to our work.  Join us as a Collections
Conservator to plan andmanage the successful relocation of the
collections at Fulford Store York.  You'll be responsible for the
collections' care, conservation and repacking as it is moved into
temporary storage and then permanently relocated to a new store.
This will include overseeing the repackaging of objects by
specialist contractors, managing transportation of the collections
and assisting with the installation of environmental control in both
stores.  You may also be required to undertake object cleaning and
manage some treatments by external conservators.

You'll have a recognised qualification in conservation and will need
to be confident using ladders.  You'll be able to adapt to new
challenges and think on your feet while working efficiently.  The
ability to work and communicate well with others is also vital.
