Tobit Curteis Associates, LLP

Tobit Curteis Associates LLP is a small Cambridge (UK) based
practice, specialising in architectural conservation, with
particular emphasis on the investigation and control of the historic
building environment.  We work for institutions and private clients
in the UK and abroad with clients including York Minster,
Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, Hampton Court Palace, the
National Trust, English Heritage and Heritage Malta.

We are seeking a building conservation professional to work with us
on diagnostic investigations, environmental monitoring and control,
both for historic buildings and artefacts.  You will also be working
on conservation research projects sometimes in collaboration with
other project partners or institutions.  Your role will include the
following areas:

    Environmental survey and monitoring of historic buildings and
    collections

    Environmental data analysis and interpretation

    Conservation surveys of historic buildings and collections

    Advising on environmental monitoring and control for historic
    buildings and exhibitions

    Graphic and photographic condition documentation

    Written reporting and presentation to clients

    Related project and office administration

Person Specification:

    Degree level or higher qualifications in a related conservation,
    architectural or engineering discipline

    Thorough understanding of conservation principles for historic
    buildings and collections

    Strong background in environmental monitoring, data analysis and
    control

    Good IT skills (in particular Microsoft Office and graphics
    packages)

    Good interpretation and report writing skills

    Ability to work both as part of our team and alone on historic
    sites

    Self starter, good time management skills and able to work to a
    deadline

    Good client presentation skills

    Ability to learn new skills and develop additional areas of
    research

    Happy to work at heights and outside

    Full driving licence

    Willingness to work additional hours as required and, on
    occasion, away from home
