Collections Conservator Eltham Map Room English Heritage Location: Eltham Palace Fixed term contract for 4 months, starting February 2015 5 days a week, from April working one Sunday in 4 Salary: Payband C UKP28,907 pro rata Application Deadline: January 14, 2015 Interview date: January 26, 2015 As part of the current project at Eltham Palace, a previously unknown painted decorative scheme was discovered in the secretary's office, known as the Map Room. While glimpses of the scheme can be seen, its entire nature is as yet unknown. As part of team of four conservators, your role will involve uncovering and conserving this exciting new discovery. Based at Eltham Palace and working with the Senior Collections Conservator (Fine Art), you will undertake the treatment of the painted scheme to the highest standards, whilst engaging with visitors and undertaking conservation in action. You will have a qualification in the conservation of easel paintings, decorative surfaces or similar from a recognised training course. The ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team is essential.
