Subject: Fellowships at Yale
Conservation Fellowships (2 positions) Yale University Art Gallery The Conservation Department of the Yale University Art Gallery is pleased to offer two Postgraduate Conservation Fellowships; one in the conservation of objects and one in the conservation of paintings. These will be full-time, one-year positions starting in September 2015, with a possibility of a one-year extension. Each Fellow will examine, research, and treat works from the Gallery's extensive and encyclopedic collections. Working with curators, registrars, art-handlers, among others, each Fellow will also participate in a wide range of activities at the Gallery including installations, loans, and preventive care. Each Fellow is expected to carry out a research project culminating in a presentation or publishable paper. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with research scientists in Yale's Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, as well as conservators from other Yale institutions. Yale University's resources at large will also contribute to and enhance this Fellowship. Each Fellowship includes a stipend of $36,000, health insurance, and $3,000 for travel and research funding. The applicant should be a graduate of a recognized conservation training program or have equivalent training. Fluency in English language and demonstrated visual, manual, research, documentation, and writing abilities are required. Closing date for applications: 6 January 2015.
