We are seeking a full time Assistant Conservator to work within our
Time-Based Media (TiBM) Conservation team supporting Tate programmes
and collection care.  The postholder will focus on supporting the
loans out programme initially and, after a period, will also support
some activity at Tate Modern.  In this role you will be assessing
and preparing media and equipment and undertaking all related
programme activity.

It is essential to hold a professional qualification in TiBM
Conservation or have equivalent experience and have demonstrable
experience assessing, preparing and documenting media and equipment.
You will have experience working with a broad range of media
including film, video, audio, slides and software and understand the
practical and ethical issues involved.  You will have good problem
solving skills and the ability to advise on and undertake to
prepare, store, pack, transport and install Tibm artworks.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required and
you will demonstrate good organisational and planning skills.  You
will have good IT skills including experience using image
processing, CAD programmes and database software to document
artworks and equipment. This role requires that you are able to
travel abroad and work out of hours when required.

This post is offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.
