The Parliamentary Archives provides a records management and
archives service to the Houses of Parliament, UK.  It has custody of
the records of the House of Lords and House of Commons, dating from
1497 to the present day.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Conservator (Book and Paper),
with preservation experience, to join the Collection Care team at
the Parliamentary Archives.  You will work in a team of four, which
includes the Collection Care Manager, to support collection care
activities of the Parliamentary Archives and other collection care
work across the Parliamentary estate.

The main focus of the role will be to undertake a programme of
specialist treatment to the Archive's collection of records (bound
and flat) with an emphasis on book conservation, as well as provide
some new book bindings, including gold lettering.  You will also be
supporting wider collection care programmes that cover preservation
risk management, including: environmental monitoring; handling and
moving collections; disaster planning; exhibitions loans;
digitisation; IPM; reviewing solutions for storage; supervising
volunteers; providing training for placements and staff; scoping and
discussing collection care requirements with suppliers and other
specialists; and supporting the heritage strategy for Parliament
including stakeholder engagement.
