Conservation internship Judd Foundation Marfa, Texas The Judd Foundation <URL:http://www.juddfoundation.org> is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and preserve the artist Donald Judd's (1928-1994) permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives in New York and Marfa, Texas. The Marfa office is looking for a conservation intern to assist the conservator between mid April-December 2014. The intern will work under supervision of the conservator and assist the conservator in the daily duties. The intern's activities will also include maintenance of the installed and uninstalled collection, prepare works for loan and exhibition, environmental monitoring, examine artworks and create photographic documentation, write condition reports, treatment proposals, and enter data into the Filemaker Pro database. The intern will undertake research and treatment objects as permitted by other projects. The candidate should preferably have graduated from a Conservation Training Program or have a minimum of one year of experience in a conservation studio. The candidate should preferably have a background in object/sculpture conservation or in paintings conservation with an interest in working with three-dimensional objects. The candidate should be willing to live in a small rural southwest Texas town for the period of the internship. Housing and a small stipend, depending on background, skill level and experience, will be provided.
