Please join the Washington Conservation Guild on Thursday, December
5, 2013 for the annual Holiday Party and Lecture of the 2013/14
season.  Colette Loll-Marvin will be giving a lecture

    "Intent to Deceive; Fakes and Forgeries in the Art World"

The meeting will be held at The Haskell Center of the Folger
Shakespeare Library, 301 E. Capitol St. SE, Washington DC.  Please
note that the Haskell Center is located on the corner of 3rd and
East Capitol Street SE across from the main library.  Additional

parking nearby.

Colette Loll-Marvin received her Master of Arts degree in the
History of Decorative Arts from the Smithsonian/Corcoran College of
Art Design after leaving a 15 year career at a marketing and
software company.  Ms. Marvin then worked on her post graduate
studies in International Art Crime in Italy through a program
sponsored by an international non-profit and interdisciplinary
research group, the Association for Research into Crimes against Art
(ARCA).  After her studies, and while living in Europe, Ms. Marvin
served as director of Public and Institutional Relations for ARCA
while conducting her own research on prolific art forgers of the
20th and 21st century.  Ms. Marvin is the founder and director of
Art Fraud Insights, a consultancy specializing in art fraud related
lectures, training and specialized investigation of artworks.
Colette is currently curating an exhibit about Fakes and Forgeries
that will open in January 2014.
