Subject: Questionnaire on adhering polypropylene and polyethylene
I am currently writing my master thesis on the use of recently developed commercial adhesives (designed especially for adhering polypropylene and polyethylene) and their suitability for modern art conservation. In my thesis, I would like to compare these commercial adhesives to adhesives that are more common in restoration. I would like to find out what adhesives have been used by conservators and therefore I'd like to ask you to fill out the following questionnaire: Have you ever had to adhere either polypropylene or polyethylene? What adhesive did you use? Did you modify the surface of the substrate in advance? (e.g. by plasma or corona treatment?) Was it successful? Were you satisfied with the results? Why (not)?
