Position at Moderna Museet, Stockholm

Moderna Museet in Stockholm is a government funded museum with the
national responsibility for all forms of modern and contemporary
art. The museum has one of the world's finest collections of 20th
and 21st century art and has an extensive programme of exhibitions,
projects and learning activities and promotes international
contacts.

Moderna Museet is seeking an Object- Sculpture Conservator for the
Conservation Department Full-time from 1 April, 2014, or at your
earliest convenience.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the history of
objects-sculptures and its materials and technologies. Experience
with nineteenth century and twentieth century objects and
sculptures.

Duties include:

    Examination and documentation of objects-sculptures works of art
    and performing conservation treatments.

    Responsibility for the duties involved in exhibitions, loans and
    acquisitions of objects-sculptures.

    Responsibility for the development of caretaking of the
    objects-sculpture collection.

The post requires:

    Masters degree from a recognized conservation training program,
    with a specialization in objects-sculpture.

    Knowledge of the materials and techniques used in the evolution
    of historic and contemporary objects-sculptures.

    Several years of relevant experience.

    Experience and interest in preventive conservation, and
    preservation theory.

    Relevant computer proficiency and language skills.

The work demands a systematic approach and a strong organizational
ability, with the ability to work independently and as part of a
team. Good interpersonal communication skills will be preferred.
