Clothworker's Conservation Internship UKP23,360 per annum The Clothworkers' Conservation Internship is a remarkable opportunity for a paintings conservator with some experience to develop and broaden their knowledge by joining one of the leading conservation teams in the museum world. The internship is for 18 months. The successful person will be involved in learning and supporting general conservation practice within a busy Gallery programme with the primary focus on activities related to exhibition and display programmes at Tate Britain. The intern will explore issues related to the conservation and care of British art through technical examination, documentation and minor treatment of artworks in the Tate's care in preparation for display. The intern will gain experience in Tate procedures and systems, and learn about the protection of artworks on display with involvement in related preventive conservation activities and event planning. You will hold a recognised qualification in the conservation of paintings and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of ethics and reasoning behind treatment choices and conserving works to a high standard. You will have excellent communications skills both verbal and written and work well within a team environment.
