Andrew W. Mellon Conservation Fellowship - 2014/2015

The Conservation Center at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is
seeking applications for an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in
photographs conservation.   The fellowship is a full time position
for one year, and includes a stipend of $34,000 per year plus
benefits.  A $2,000 travel allowance for study/research will be
allocated at the discretion of the section head and the Director of
Conservation.

The fellowship will focus on the study, examination, and
conservation of the color photography in the collections of the Los
Angeles County Museum of Art. Successful candidates will gain
considerable experience with process identification, storage and
exhibition of contemporary color photographs.  Collaborative
projects with the Center's Research Laboratory are possible.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in
informal lectures, symposia, and workshops and to visit and
collaborate with nearby cultural institutions.

Fellowship positions will be available beginning January 2014.

Eligibility: Candidates will be considered who have graduated from a
recognized conservation training program, with the appropriate
specialization, or who have similar training or experience.

    Letters of recommendation from three professional references.

    A short statement of the candidate's interest and intent in
    applying for the fellowship.
