Salary: UKP23,037- UKP 26,707 (Subject to change pending a pay and
grading review) and Civil Service pension arrangements.

We have an exciting opportunity for two Conservators to join the
Collections Care Department, one Permanent post and one Fixed Term
post (12 months). These are specialist roles, which works at the
operational level to support delivery of the Collections and
Interpretation department's strategic plans and goals. The
conservators work within the wider Collections Care team and are
responsible for delivering a programme of specialist treatment to
the Library's physical collections of books, documents, ephemera and
objects. They also support the Library's programme of events,
exhibitions and loans; assist with the supervision of interns and
volunteers; and contribute to preservation activities such as
environmental monitoring and control, improvements to storage areas
and delivery of staff training.

It is essential that you have excellent verbal and written
communication skills, including the ability to explain complex
issues to a wide range of audiences and to convey information in an
engaging and effective way. Also desirable is a Membership of the
Society of Archivists or ICON (Institute of Conservation), with PACR
(Professional Accreditation of Conservator-Restorers) or a
commitment to working towards this.
