Assistant Conservator
Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (SCVA)

UKP20,172 to UKP23,352 per annum
Fixed term to 31 July 2014

Ref: SC2382

Based in the SCVA Conservation Studio you will work on a range of
collections and temporary exhibition activities, as well as
assisting in maintaining preventive conservation strategies.

You will be expected to contribute to the day to day work of the
Conservation Studio through a combination of studio-based work,
technical research, the installation of temporary exhibitions and
displays.

The successful candidate will be from a recognised conservation
training programme with a specialisation in three dimensional
objects/sculpture, paintings, or organic material and a specific
interest in 20th century works of art and/or non-European art. Given
the broad multi-disciplinary nature of the collections, the post
holder will be expected to develop his/her knowledge whilst
continuing to develop their own particular specialism.

A first degree (or equivalent qualification) in art history, science
or a related discipline and a postgraduate qualification in a
conservation specialism is essential, along with experience of
working in a museum or art gallery.

Closing Date: 12 noon on 8 November 2013.
