Exhibition "Restoring in Italy: Art and Technology in the Activities of Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro" International Conservation Center "Citta di Roma" Old Acre, Israel Opening Reception: October 27, 2013 18:00 Please join us at the International Conservation Center in Old Acre on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 18:00, for an evening opening reception of the exhibition held in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Culture as a part of the XIII Edition of the Italian Language Week Around the World: Research, Discover, Innovation: Italy, Land of Knowledge. The exhibition "Restoring in Italy: Art and Technology in the Activities of Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro" will open October 27, 2013 and run as a permanent installation. The opening reception will feature special guest lecture: Conservation and Restoration of Cultural and Historical Assets Professor Giovanna de Palma, University of Rome La Sapienza The exhibit is constituted by twenty four large panels, which recount the achievement of the Institute since its establishment in 1939, until its most recent projects. Special attention is given to the activities in the field of conservation (architecture and its decorative patterns, monuments, archaeological site, large paintings on canvas and modern art), including preventive conservation and the effects of urban pollution. The initiative is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The catalogue is published by Gangemi Editions, in Italian and in English.
