Archaeological Finds Conservator Work Placement Somme, France A placement is available 24 November 9 December 2013 on a professionally run excavation of a First World War battlefield in the Somme region of France for a qualified archaeological conservator looking for experience with a high volume and variety of finds. The conservator will be responsible for on site finds conservation, including 'first aid' treatment, cleaning and packing, as well as training and supervising volunteers in these procedures, and providing recommendations for further treatment and longer term storage. Members of the excavation team are not paid but receive food and accommodation.
