Encompassing both theoretical and practical sessions, the workshop
will cover the structure and nature of feathers, their causes of
deterioration and principles and practice for non-interventive and
basic interventive options for their care (soil removal, reshaping,
repair techniques). Participants are encouraged to share their
experiences and challenges. The workshop will benefit those caring
for objects and textiles incorporating feathers and natural history
collections.
