Subject: Pest infestations in fiberglass sculpture
Our museum is considering re-installing a large painted fiberglass work. For the past five years, it was stored in a truck without any sort of temperature or humidity controls. After examination, there is evidence of both insect and rodent infestation. I would prefer not to have it come back inside the museum. However, this is a project that both the Museum Director and the Executive Director would like to see completed and installed in the next three months. I would prefer to use an anoxic treatment for the pests, rather than any sort of chemical. Has anyone ever worked on this sort of project or have any ideas as to how best to proceed? Robin P.
